Kids learn through play, so each week we'll enjoy process art, where the kids create art by playing with various mediums instead of trying to replicate a certain project. Parents and caregivers can relax and play with them, knowing we'll clean up the mess! :)

Ages 18 months - 4 years old welcome.

Teen Art Hangout – Oct 10

Let's hang out and make some art!

My goal with Teen Art Hangout is to create a safe space for art exploration and learning where no art is bad art.

Students will receive an artist-grade mixed media art journal as part of this class and work weekly on different art challenges and activities that encourage spontaneity, original thinking, problem solving, and imagination. All of these projects will focus on the creative process instead of an end-product.
This means the kids will be able to personalize their time, using art materials that interest them the most; learn the 7 elements of art in a very natural way, and create art that is meaningful to them all while having fun and hanging out with Ms. Jessica and their peers!

Kids Art Club – Clay Pumpkins

On the 2nd Saturday of each month, drop the kids off for a little bit of artistic fun and socializing. We'll complete one art project, eat a sack lunch/snack (brought from home), and play games.

This month, we'll make pumpkins out of kiln-fired clay! We will keep the pumpkins after the kids create them to fire them in our kiln. They will be ready for pick up in two weeks after the event.

Spin & Sip

Stop by during Downtown Griffin's 2nd Saturday Fall Fling, grab a beer, wine, soda or juice box and take a spin on the pottery wheel! No need to sign up; this event will be for anyone and everyone strolling by! We'll have our pottery wheels and a cooler set up on the sidewalk from 5-8pm right before the concert in the Park at 6th up the street.

Each person will get 15 minutes on the wheel and constant hands-on help from our pottery wheel instructor for just $20. This includes your second visit (after a few weeks) to the studio to glaze your hand made bowl after it comes out of the kiln!

Resin Sun Catchers

Join us as we play with resin! The sun catchers are an easy, fun, laidback project where the hardest part is choosing which colors to fill which spaces. 

This very fun medium can be a little intimidating and expensive to try on your own, so come do it with us! We'll show you the basics, set you free to experiment, and we'll take care of the clean up.

This clay is NOT fragile like kiln-fired clay, making it perfect for everyday wear. Grab some friends and come make some pairs of earrings.

PRIVATE EVENT

Classical Conversations Homeschool Group

Sign up for this event ONLY if you are in the Classical Conversations homeschool group.

About this class:

Students will learn clay hand building/sculpting techniques such as pinch pots, coils and slabs and use these methods to create a vessel out of clay. 
Students will learn about clay, glazes, and take a kiln room tour during this first visit.
The projects will be fired in the kiln and the group will return to glaze these items (this is included in the ticket price) 
On the second visit, students will be reminded about clay and glaze, and how to properly apply glaze with a brush. 
One more firing and then the pieces will be ready to take home to display. 
Each session should take roughly 1.5 hours.
