Drop-In Clay Play

stache studio 116 S. 6th Street, Griffin, GA, United States

Every Thursday and Friday, you can drop in and sculpt (hand-build) with kiln-fired clay without appointment! We have a slab roller, cookie cutters, forms and step-by-step tutorials that help you create mugs, trays, votive candle holders, figurines and more. Plus our helpful instructors are on hand to give you tips and tricks for making successful projects. All ages are welcome to get creative with clay. Ages 7 and under may need a little extra help from a parent to have a successful project. Every Thursday and Friday, you can drop in and sculpt (hand-build) with kiln-fired clay! No tickets or reservations needed. **Please note - this is NOT creating on the pottery wheel. Pottery wheels require a reservation, which can be done by searching for lessons listed at stachestudio.net/events OR requesting a lesson at stachestudio.net/shop/pottery-wheel

Pricing: $30 for 1.5 lbs of clay. This is enough to make one main project, or two small projects. If you need more clay, split the clay with a friend, or make more than two pieces, there are additional fees. The return visit to glaze or paint your piece is included in your clay play price!
How it works: The clay we use must be fired in a kiln, so after you make your piece, you'll leave it in the studio. After it's completely dried (which usually takes at least one week), we include it in our next clay kiln load. Once it's been fired, we text you to let you know your piece(s) are ready for glazing! You can drop in without appointment anytime we're open to glaze or paint your pieces. If you use glaze, we'll keep it and fire it again in the next glaze firing and it will be ready for pick up the following week. If you use paint, you can take it home the same day (but your item will not be food safe).

Mommy & Me Handprints

stache studio 116 S. 6th Street, Griffin, GA, United States

Do you have a tiny Valentine? Let's capture those handprints while they're still little!  This is a drop-in event! Choose the time that works best for you - it should only take about 20 minutes at the most to complete this project.

Each ticket includes a Mommy & Me Handprint plaque - that we're going to paint for you! That's right, all you have to do is press your hand into the clay (and we even help you get the perfect print, too) and 2-3 weeks later you'll have a keepsake to treasure forever. Choose your own colors and we'll paint it for you after the bisque firing.

Please purchase one ticket per child that you would like handprinted. **Depending upon handprint size, we may be able to combine multiple children hands plus the mother's hand on one plaque, but we will have to determine that on the night of the event. You would still purchase one ticket per child.

Glazing with Goats

stache studio 116 S. 6th Street, Griffin, GA, United States

Our farmer friends are bringing baby goats to hang out with us as we glaze ceramic pieces!

Hold a baby goat as you paint your piece of pottery, and we'll make sure to get a picture!  The goats will be hanging out with us from 6:30-7:30pm, but you're welcome to begin painting as early as 5pm.

Tickets will cover the cost of the farmer bringing the goats to the studio. A painting project must be purchased the night of the event. Prices average $25-40.
